A little over a year ago, we launched WestBlog – our first external social media effort – to speak to trends and issues in the U.S. legal marketplace and participate in industry discussions in what we hoped would be a meaningful way. A year later, we have marked great progress – so much so that today I’m pleased to let you know that we’re taking the initiative to the next stage.
We’ve introduced a new blog platform to replace WestBlog, with the intention of sharing more stories from across the global businesses that make up Thomson Reuters, Legal.
The new blog, Legal Current, will introduce you to key voices – ours and others – from across the global legal marketplace, and will showcase many of the bright minds behind the technology, innovation, content and trends shaping the legal industry worldwide. We’ll share the unique perspectives of our authors and insiders, and provide new channels for feedback.
I’m pleased to be a part of this expanded conversation, and welcome you to participate in the discussion. I hope to see you here.
Peter Warwick
President and CEO
Thomson Reuters, Legal
Congratulations Peter and to the rest of the team at Legal Current. I look forward to reading your articles.
Best,

Has a nice look. What sort of new channels for feedback do you mean? Friendfeed, Twitter, etc? I’m interested because of the trend toward live streaming conversations (vs. moderated blog comments, etc). Thank you.
Thanks for your comments, Melissa and Scott. We see Legal Current as a primary channel for feedback. From time to time, we also plan to host conversations through live video streaming, perhaps utilizing Twitter and featuring perspectives from West authors, Reuters journalists or Thomson Reuters executives. There likely will be many other ways to connect through the blog as it evolves, and I hope you’ll be part of the ongoing conversation.
