Why librarians should care about emerging technologies

It’s more important than ever for law librarians to be on the forefront of the new tools for sharing and distributing information. The use of those tools is increasing for professional purposes. Emerging technologies. They’re not just for personal, away-from-work uses.

Former law librarian and now social media consultant Connie Crosby led a session Monday at AALL titled “Why Librarians Should Care About Emerging Technologies.” She says, given the economy, it’s important for experienced librarians to become indispensable to their firm, school or institution.

Crosby consults with her company Crosby Group Consulting. She also has a blog and is active on Twitter.
