WestlawNext for law school faculty, librarians and staff

Law school faculty, librarians and staff across the United States are being notified that they now have access to WestlawNext. West’s Academic department sent an email yesterday to those who now have access, detailing how to get started. The Westlaw plans for the law schools that were notified still include access to Westlaw.com.

In addition, the West Education Network (TWEN) now allows course administrators to direct the legal citations in uploaded documents either to Westlaw or to WestlawNext. (For instructions on how to set this option, download this PDF).

A variety of WestlawNext training opportunities are available for academics – including this TWEN course – where you can find links to user guides and video demos, plus a discussion forum for sharing your opinions. The West eLearning Center also has a learning track devoted to WestlawNext and the Training tab on lawschool.westlaw.com now offers many training options as well.
