Media highlights from the Westlaw Edge launch

Thursday’s Westlaw Edge launch is garnering positive coverage from legal industry media and bloggers.

After being briefed by Thomson Reuters executives at our New York headquarters earlier this week, top industry outlets and blogs are featuring the news, including ABA Journal, LawSites, Legaltech news and Artificial Lawyer, among others. Industry influencers American Bar Association, American Association of Law Libraries, and American Lawyer Media included the news in their daily news alerts.

The coverage has focused on the new capabilities and tools of Westlaw Edge, as well as the Thomson Reuters investment in AI, with Legaltech news noting, “[t]he features represent more than just an incremental product upgrade,” and Artificial Lawyer declaring, “In short, it’s a total rebuild of Westlaw with [Natural Language Processing] and machine learning tools applied in multiple ways.”

The launch is also generating strong pick-up on social media. Social coverage has come from key influencers, including Ed Walters, Richard Tromans – who proclaimed, “Tectonic plates are shifting in the world of legal AI-driven case research” – Ron Friedmann, Molly McDonough, Kevin O’Keefe, Jason Wilson, Jean O’Grady and Bob Ambrogi, as well as top legal outlets, such as ABA Journal, Attorney At Work and Legal IT Professionals, among others.
